. the car companies themselves has told governor romney to knock it off. g.m. says, we think creating jobs in the united states should be a source of bipartisan pride. and i couldn't agree more. and i understand that governor romney's had a tough time here in ohio because he was against saving the auto industry and it's hard to run away from that position when you're on videotape saying the words let detroit go bankrupt. and i know, you know, we're close to an election. but this isn't a game. these are people's jobs. these are people's lives. these car companies are putting a lot of effort to make great products but also to, you know, make sure that everybody in america knows how committed they are to making cars here in america. and so -- so you don't scare hard-working americans just to scare up some votes. that's not what being president's all about. that's not leadership. when i first made the decision to rescue the auto industry, i knew it wasn't popular. and despite the fact that one out of eight jobs in ohio are connected to the auto industry in some way, it wasn't even popular in o

,000 jobs that were created last month according to the adp report. gm reports an increase in sales, and housing construction numbers are up. all this is good and unemployment numbers are coming out tomorrow which probably show we've had 33 consecutive months of job growth and more than 5.2 million jobs. that's all good news the president can point to in saying we're moving forward, not backwards. >> amy, the political buzz story of the day. on a lot of front pages of blogs and newspapers, you've got this picture of the president and chris christie, both of them praising each other yesterday. let me play a little of the back-and-forth. >> there will be some folks who will criticize me for complimenting him. but you know what? i speak the truth. that's what i always do. sometimes you guys like it. sometimes you don't. sometimes politicians like it. sometimes they don't. but i say what i feel and what i believe. and i'm just doing the same thing with the president of the united states. so i did pinch myself every day. you know, like when i got on marine one, i'm pinching myself, belie

of the -- the ceos of chrysler and gm had to come out and say you're lie being us and you're going to hurt our sales with your lies. he's not really keeping up with business there, but i have to tell you also, earlier this week he got subsumed by the sandy coverage as it should have, but i put out a story with another videotape in which mitt romney talking to a fund-raiser earlier this year says, you know, there's a better business environment in china than the united states. well, why is that? it's because they have no worker protections, no environmental -- >> they have no human rights, david. >> and low wages. so is he saying he wants to bring us back to that point? like to the days of cal coolidge as joy suggests? >> david, yes. >> there's a lot going on that doesn't compute and when it does compute it's rather scary. >> there's something called the moonlight magnolia theory of economics. the south practices it right now. when you strip away unions and you can lower wages, businesses are more profitable. that's why wall street -- you see the stock market tick up when companies lay people off bec

campaign has countered with a new ad in ohio and michigan. >> gm calls romney's ads politics at its cynical worst. and chrysler's ceo said it's simply not true. we know the truth, mitt. >> that's exactly what i said. the headline you read which is let detroit go bankrupt. >> when romney airs these grossly false ads, it opens up the door obviously for the obama campaign to hit back hard. in the state of florida it actually gets worse. romney desperately needs to win the state of florida and he is running a spanish language ad meant to stoke the fears of cuban-americans. the ad tries to connect president obama to venezuelan president hugo chavez and fidel castro. "the miami herald" reports the romney campaign would not furnish the ad despite repeated requests. in other words, the ad is so outrageous, the romney campaign tried to slip it under the radar. obviously the strategy is backfiring. let's turn to annette taddeo, member of the miami-dade democratic party. annette, great to have you with us tonight. i keep saying the bread basket to victory for president obama is going to be south flori
